Web Site Hosting

Dinamis has been hosting web sites since 1999. We offer everything ranging from the usual web site and email hosting to more complex application hosting requiring considerable specialized knowledge. Initially, our hosting offerings were simply an adjunct, a value-added service, to our custom software and web site development services but mostly through word-of-mouth, we have also gained loyal clientele for whom we do nothing but host their web sites or provide dedicated servers. All of our servers are located in first-class data centres in Toronto and we offer remote shell access on all of hosting packages via key-based ssh authentication.

Our hosting packages start at $10 per month for basic web site and email hosting. We would be happy to provide you with a quote that will suit your needs and budget. If you know nothing about managing servers and just need someone else to handle those details for you, we can handle all the details for you. If you know how to do that yourself and just need us to provide a dedicated server where we supply nothing more than a place to park your server and reliable power and Internet connectivity, we can also do that for you.

In general, we support just about any open source application that will run on Linux. We will also support applications that must run on Windows but please be advised that Windows hosting will be more expensive simply because of licensing costs and the higher system administration and maintenance costs of running Windows.

We use Python extensively in our own development projects so Python and related technologies are well-supported here. Whether you are a Python, Ruby, Perl, or PHP fan, rest assured that none of those languages and frameworks and products based upon those languages are treated like second-class citizens, as is often the case at mass market web hosting firms.

If you have a preference for one Linux distribution over another, as long as it can be downloaded or you can provide installation media, we will install it for you. Linux distributions we are currently running include the following.

We have found server virtualization an excellent way of reducing the costs of maintenance, improving utilization of servers, increasing energy efficiency (servers consume significant amounts of electrical energy), and also improving reliability.
